Who are we? 515 Therapy and Consulting is a group practice located in West Des Moines, Iowa. We provide a wide variety of outpatient mental health services to clients and their families ages 3 and up. These services include psychiatric and mental health evaluations, medication management, individual, couple and family therapy, public/motivational speaking, and NOW, SPEED DATING!
What is it? “Speed dating is a formalized matchmaking process which has the purpose of encouraging eligible singles to meet large numbers of new potential partners in a very short period of time” (Wikipedia). Bottom line – It’s a fun, inexpensive, quick, and easy way to meet new people!
Why? Why not?! The owner, Crystal Hemesath, Ph.D., LMFT, LMHC is a love and relationship expert, and has soft spot for love. Romantic relationships are highly important to most people! We believe that everyone deserves that special relationship they are looking for. We also know how hard it is to meet the right fit, even with all the dating apps available. We want to help and we think we have the perfect venue to make it happen!
How does it work? Each single will go on a series of “mini dates” lasting about five (5) minutes each. After each date, you will have an opportunity to indicate on the card provided if you are interested in getting to know this person better. At the end of the event, 515 Therapy and Consulting will collect all the cards. If there is a mutual connection, we will provide a formal email introduction of both parties, and you take it from there!! (Note: Information will only be shared if the match is mutual). Easy Peasy!
What if I don’t know what to say? Don’t worry! We have you covered! Icebreaker questions will be provided in case you need a little help.
Cost. $30, including drinks and appetizers!
Cancellation Policy. You must cancel 48 hours prior to the event to receive a full refund. To cancel, email janel@515therapy.com. It is very helpful for us know if you cannot attend, so we can invite someone else from our waitlist enjoy the experience!! Number of dates is dependent on our event attendance.
How do I register? Go to Eventbrite here! Space is limited to 15 men and 15 women. MUST be single to enter and meet the age requirements of the specific event. If you are within 2 years on either end of the age requirement, you may choose to enter the next higher or lower age event. (For example, for the age group 65+, if you are 63-64, you may enter the 65+ age group event or the 50-65 age group event, or both). After purchase of the ticket, you will be sent a form to fill out including your gender, contact information, and preferred name. Please return the form within 48 hours of receipt to complete registration. A Photo of driver’s license is required.
Fun Fact. A Los Angeles Rabbi invented speed dating in 1998 as a way for young Jewish singles to meet and find a partner (New York Times, 2013).

Ages 65+
515 Therapy & Consulting is excited to host a night of speed dating, meeting other singles, and making connections! For this event, we are looking for 15 heterosexual single men and 15 heterosexual single women ages 65+ who are interested in a night of getting to know others. Save The (Speed) Date will take place on Thursday, February 9 from 6-8 pm. Check in between 5:30 and 5:45 PM, and the doors lock at 6:00 pm as that is when the dates will begin! Tickets are $30 per person, and we will keep a wait list if necessary. Must cancel 48 hours prior to the event in order to receive a full refund. The event will take place at 6600 Westown Pkwy Suite 240, West Des Moines, IA 50266, so grab a ticket and get ready to mingle!
